Christmas 2022 has arrived, and there are numerous Christmas events on the Gold Coast. If you like to plan ahead of time, here are some of the best Christmas events and activities for the whole family.
Tugun Lights Up 2022

Please save the date for Tugun Lights Up 2022, which returns for its tenth year! Dine al fresco at one of the fantastic local cafes or restaurants. Then look for items to buy as gifts at the Christmas market.
Stage entertainment will include children’s character shows, live music, and Christmas carols. Along Toolona Street, there will also be roving performers, art activities, and more. Of course, Santa Claus will make an appearance!
Tugun Lights Up 2022, presented by Division 14 Cr Gail O’Neill in collaboration with Community Bank Tugun, part of Bendigo Bank, will be a celebration not to be missed on December 3. The festivities start at 4 PM.
North Burleigh Carols by the Sea 2022

On December 8, bring the family to Ed Hardy Park for a beautiful afternoon and evening of free Christmas entertainment and fun. ‘North Burleigh Carols by the Sea,’ presented by Division 12 Councillor Pauline Young, will offer a variety of festive entertainment from 4 PM to 8 PM, with stage entertainment and Christmas Carols beginning at 6 PM.
Explore the Area Entertainment while you wait for the Stage Entertainment – Christmas Carols, live music, community performances, and Santa. Food trucks, market stalls, and roving performers are available from 4 PM to 8 PM, while arts and crafts and children’s activities – inflatable and bubble zone – are available from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Coolangatta Christmas Carols 2022
Queen Elizabeth Park & Esplanade

Coolangatta’s Queen Elizabeth Park will be filled with the spirit of Christmas thanks to the free Coolangatta Christmas Carols.
Attendees can sing along to their favourite carols, enjoy spectacular festive performances, and settle for a magical night under the Southern Gold Coast stars. Santa will also make an appearance, but this time by plane! There will also be plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
The Coolangatta Christmas Markets and food trucks will open at 4 PM, with the stage show beginning at 5:30 PM and the event concluding with a spectacular festive fireworks display.

Coolangatta New Year’s Eve Fireworks – 2022

Coolangatta will host a New Year’s Eve fireworks display on December 31, 2022. The exhibition will begin at 9 PM (QLD time) and end at midnight, lighting up the skies and ocean along the Southern Gold Coast. Attendees can also see the display from the bars, restaurants, and buildings along Marine Parade, helping many local businesses celebrate the new year.
