Enjoy six days of incredible live surfing and free family entertainment at the 2019 Gold Coast Open!

Formerly known as the Flight Centre Burleigh Pro, the 2019 Gold Coast Open is this autumn’s biggest surfing event in which hundreds of the world’s best surfers will compete against one another in the hopes to get a shot at the title.

Popular events of the annual Flight Centre Burleigh Pro will return in the 2019 Gold Coast Open, including the Open Men’s and Open Women’s Pro Surf Division, along with two brand new events: the Pro Junior Men’s and Women’s. Surfers of all ages and capabilities from both Australia and other countries will be competing, which will offer spectators and casual visitors with plenty of surfing action to see over six excitement-filled days.

While the events take place, there’ll be a fun program of family-friendly entertainment to enjoy on the beach and esplanade. This will include sunrise yoga sessions, competitive and demonstrative half-pipe skateboarding, an open-air movie screening of 2007’s Surf’s Up, and a fantastic lineup of live music from up-and-coming Australian music artists Tones and I, Donny Love and The Vanns.

As well as a WSL Qualifying Series event, the 2019 Gold Coast Open is an unmissable surfing festival that welcomes both locals and visitors to Burleigh Beach for six days of action-packed surfing, free entertainment and good vibes next to the sea.

The 2019 Gold Coast Open comes to Burleigh Beach from May 7 to May 12, and you can stay within walking distance of the action with 2nd Avenue Beachside Apartments. Find more information on our Burleigh Heads beachfront accommodation now at 2nd Avenue.
